Our History
In 1983, Jack Hornsby established the business in the kitchen of his family’s home. His wife, Sandra, was a cosmetologist, but she earned a master electrician’s license so she could help with the company. Their children, Jill and Judy, grew up in the business and helped where they could, driving parts to the office as teenagers.
The Hornsbys worked hard, scrimped, and put money back in the business so it would grow. Today, Jack Hornsby Electric, Inc. has several projects under our name, including the Kirkland Cancer Center, Best Buy, the new City Hall, Walmart South, and the lighting at the Jackson Generals Ballpark.
Jill, who is now Jill Wade, worked outside the family business after college and then rejoined the company in 2001 as the manager of operations. Today, she is the CEO, a position she took after her parents retired. She met her husband, Mark, when he joined the company as an estimator and project manager.
